You may have a bowl of cereal for morning meal, but it also can make a smart late-night snack. One cup of cornflakes has 100 calories and a half cup of milk has 45 calories and 5 grams of sugar or less will really help putting your body at ease and get you ready for a night of sweet dreams.

It’s hard to go past yoghurt and fruit in this list of 5 healthy late-night snacks. It satisfies both sweet craving and easy to make. Besides, yogurt is an excellent source of calcium, which can link you to better sleep. And you can add whatever fruit you like to the bowl without worrying about health problems.

A familiar snack while watching your favorite movie. Just skip the butter and salt that you get at the movie theater and make your own bowl at home with some nuts, or dried spices and enjoy. In fact, 3 cups of air-popped popcorn have less than 100 calories and about 4 grams of fiber to satisfy your hunger at midnight.

A banana is a quick and easy snack to munch on before bed that will help you get some extra shut-eye. At only about 100 calories each, bananas are a source of fiber, vitamins and minerals. It even helps you have a good night’s rest as they’re a source of tryptophan which is a precursor to melatonin. Not only at midnight but eating a banana in whatever time of day is also good for you.

Both cheese and whole grain crackers provide a variety of healthy ingredients, including healthy fats, plenty of fiber and protein, and worthwhile calories, but remember to control the amount of cheese you put in your body to keep your waistline. And no need to worry about crackers, they even contain iron which provides energy that the body needs the next day. It prevents you from feeling sluggish or groggy when you wake up.
