To a coffee lover, coffee is more than just a drink, it’s a way of life and a culture all its own. Even compared to other traditional food and drinks, coffee offers a way to experience the daily life of a city and its people. While you can find it everywhere in the world, Vietnam has its own unique coffee history.

In 1857, coffee was first introduced to Vietnam by the French, but only when the Vietnam War ended, did it begin to develop. Today, Vietnam is known for its coffee industry and ranked number 2just after Brazilin exporting coffee. Along with that, the coffee culture here has become an integral part in people’s daily life and has truly been taken to a new level over time.

The most familiar phrase that Vietnamese, especially Saigonese, usually use whenever they want to set a meet up with their friends or even for a business meeting is“Let’s meet up for coffee!”. And to honor the tradition of Saigon’s coffee culture, we’ve curated a list of local coffee shops for the true coffee lover.

“Coffee is the kind of traveller who blends in and becomes native wherever it goes.”

2. About Life Coffee Brewers – Hai Ba Trung, D3

3. Okkio Caffe – Le Loi, D1

4. Saigon Coffee Roastery

5. Phin&Bean
